A very heartfelt moment happened at my last June wedding. One of the brides uncles came up to her and gave her this penny (that is placed in her shoe). He told her that when she was younger she picked up this exact penny and gave it to him for good luck and he has had it with him ever since. He wanted her to have it with her on her wedding day.
